As you all know South Africa is the host of the 2010 world cup soccer. Rustenburg is one of the host cities. A few firemen from Germany visited South Africa to assist us in the planning of things due to Germany hosted the 2006 World Cup. They were here for a week, we visited a few places, Olimpia Park, were the fans will be able to see the games on big screens, the two sports grounds were the teams will practice as well as the Royal Bafokeng stadium. One would not know how many planning is going on in such a big event till you are part of this. Just to make things clear I’m not part of the planning, we will only assist RustenburgFire Department on the days of the events. I only went with them to see for ourselfs what and were they will need us to assist. The last day we visited Sun City, were the teams and the FIFA family is going to stay. Just a word of thanks to CFO Mfolwe of RustenburgFire department for the invitation to take part of this, also to CFO Karl Heinz Schneider, Captain Mario Mischok, Program assistant Susanne Scholle, all from Germany, and Program manager Karola Swart from South Africa for your time and input to help us make this event safe for all. We know there is still a lot to do before everything is in place.
All the best to CFO Mfolwe and his team, you can count on KgetlengrivierFire & Emergency Services for assistance.
