About me and my blog
The reason for this blog is to make the public more aweare of the work that fire fighters are doing, for children to get a bit more information when they need to do a school project and for all to post comments and storries.
I’m a shift commander at Kgetlengrivier Fire & Emergency in the North West Province. We serve a area of almost 4000 km². In our area we have three towns that we serve, Koster, Derby and Swartruggens and all surrounding farms and roads. Man power is 21 on the station, 4 shifts 5 people per shift and the fire chief. I will from time to time post some new pics and stories of calls that we have done.
Below is a picture of one of our fire engines, the Gladiator build by Fire Raiders. We use this vehicle for rescues, grass and veld fires and structural fires. To all my brothers and sisters out there, be safe and look out for each other, keep up the good work.
